How to Use the Vantage Trail and Sail Errata Pack

Quick answer

Replace the original MOVE storybook and swap out 52 quest and boat cards with the updated versions from the Trail and Sail Errata Pack to fix unclear quest directions and enable boat sailing.

Step-by-step installation

1. 1. Remove the original MOVE storybook: Take the old MOVE storybook out of the game box. Set it aside—you won't need it anymore. Check that you have the first or second printing; the errata pack is not for later printings.
2. 2. Insert the updated MOVE storybook: Place the new MOVE storybook from the errata pack into the box in the same slot. The new storybook includes corrected quest directions that point to specific locations instead of vague compass headings.
3. 3. Identify and remove the 52 outdated quest and boat cards: Go through your quest and boat card decks. Remove every card that matches the original versions listed in the errata pack's reference sheet. Don't discard the old cards yet—keep them as backups in case you later want to play without the errata.
4. 4. Shuffle in the updated quest and boat cards: Take the 52 new cards from the errata pack and shuffle them into the appropriate decks (quest cards with quests, boat cards with boats). The new boat cards explicitly allow sailing across ocean spaces, so make sure all players know this rule change before the game starts.
5. 5. Verify the replacement: Quickly flip through a few quest cards to confirm they now give clear destination names, and check a boat card for the sailing action. If any card still seems vague, compare it to the errata reference sheet—you may have missed a swap.

What's in the pack

• Vantage Trail and Sail Errata Pack (for First and Second Printings): Quests in Vantage point players in a direction (north, southeast, etc) and can lead to frustration if the destination isn't found. Likewise, players have expressed a desire to use boats to sail across the ocean (instead of the alternatives found in the game). To address these concerns, the Trail and Sail errata pack includes 1 updated MOVE storybook and 52 updated quest and boat cards. You only need to swap these components—no other game parts are affected, so setup is minimal.
