The essential edition of this colorful dystopian-themed game combines the original Euphoria core game with the expansion and includes some revised rules/components, particularly the board layout.

Euphoria is a worker-placement game where dice are your workers. The number on each die represents that worker’s knowledge, which you will compare to the knowledge of other players’ workers throughout the game.

The more you send your workers throughout the city and the more workers you add, the more they discover about their twisted society. If they learn too much, they might desert your cause.

Jacob ★★★★★

Played this with four people last weekend and the dystopian theme actually comes through in the mechanics, not just the art. Having the expansion cards folded into the base box means way less setup hassle too.

Jason ★★★★★

The revised board layout in this edition makes the districts much easier to read at a glance, which speeds up the whole game. Having the expansion folded into the core box means setup is one trip to the shelf instead of two.

Zoe ★★★★★

I’ve played the base game before, but having the expansion integrated with the revised board layout makes setup way faster and the dystopian theme feels more cohesive. The new worker placement spots add just enough tension to keep everyone engaged.
