Terraforming Mars Realm: Rolling Realms Promo FAQ

What you get and what you need

What exactly is in the Terraforming Mars promo pack?

The pack contains 6 promo cards for Rolling Realms, all inspired by Terraforming Mars. These are realm cards that expand your copy of the core game.

Do I need the Rolling Realms core game to use this promo?

Yes. This promo pack requires the Rolling Realms core game. The cards are not a standalone game; they add a new realm to your existing copy.

Is this a full expansion or just a small add-on?

It is a small add-on: a set of 6 cards that introduces one new realm. It does not include new dice, tokens, or other components beyond the cards.

Why the pack includes a donation note

The Terraforming Mars realm was created with permission granted in 2021. As a special accompaniment, Stonemaier Games made a $500 donation to the National Center for Transgender Equality to align with the company's mission of inclusivity. That donation is part of the story behind this promo, not a gameplay feature.

Setup, play, and scoring questions

How do I set up the Terraforming Mars realm?

The supplied information does not include specific setup steps for this realm. Because it is a promo realm for Rolling Realms, you'll add its cards to your game following the general setup rules in the Rolling Realms core rulebook. The promo pack itself does not include separate instructions.

How does the Terraforming Mars realm score?

The supplied product information does not detail the scoring rules for this specific realm. Scoring will follow the realm card's own text and the core game's scoring framework. Check the cards themselves for the exact conditions.

Can I play this realm solo or with a group?

Rolling Realms is designed for solo and multiplayer play, and promo realms are used within that same framework. The supplied information does not specify any player-count restrictions for this particular realm, so treat it as compatible with the core game's supported player counts.

How does this realm play differently from other Rolling Realms realms?

Each realm in Rolling Realms has its own theme and scoring puzzle. The Terraforming Mars realm is inspired by that game's theme, but the supplied information does not describe unique mechanisms. You'll discover its specific twist when you read the cards.
